As a Manifesting Generator I think a lot about the differences between pure Generators and MGs, of which there are many! In the post-Ra-Uru-Hu-age MGs have been liberated: they are given their own space on the page or 10 minutes on the podcast; they’re spoken about as their own unique animal. However, I believe I understand why Ra Uru Hu kept Manifesting Generators and pure Generators as one type, with one Strategy (to respond): to emphasize their common Sacral-ness.
Manifesting Generators are, after all, Sacral beings. What I mean when I say this is that only Generators and Manifesting Generators have a defined Sacral Center. All of the other types have open Sacrals. The Sacral Center is the body’s prime motor, and when it is defined, it is the ruler of men. It must be listened to. The Sacral Center is within itself a response mechanism: it responds with gut desires or aversions; it is turned on or repulsed; it feels excited by or averse to what it is presented with. What makes a Manifesting Generator different from a Generator is that they have a connection (through defined Channels) from the Sacral Center to the Throat Center. What makes a Manifesting Generator different from a Manifestor is that they are not designed to initiate, they are designed to respond with their Sacral Center before acting.
So, what does it mean that Manifestors are the only type that can initiate? Manifestors are unique because they have a connection (through defined channels) from a Motor Center (Heart, Solar Plexus or Root Center) to the Throat Center. Motor Centers are the engines within us: they fire us up and move us forward; and when there is a connection from a Motor to the Throat Center, there is an ability to act on or communicate that energy that is pure and clear, and often produces original and groundbreaking manifestations. To initiate means to spark something- to put forward or create in a way that is solely one’s own, without influence or direction from others.
As a Manifesting Generator who has spent my life surrounded by Generators, I can attest to the amount of conditioning that comes at MGs from Generators to be like them. Generators have a true gift in their ability to focus- to have a singular vision and mission in life. All of the Generators that I have known have spent their lives in search of or in service to their one thing: their life’s purpose or calling; their own business or career that defines them. Generators can put tremendous pressure on themselves to find that one thing that they are supposed to be doing, so much so that they can become bitter or hopeless, feeling like if they can’t find their thing they are talentless or their life lacks meaning. When Generators are around others they look for that person’s talents, always seeing through the lens of each of us having a skill to master. Around Manifesting Generators, Generators will see an MG doing lots of things: varied hobbies, jobs or creative pursuits. Generators will tend to pick the one thing that an MG does that they like, envy or could see themselves doing, and they will encourage the MG to pursue that thing. Stick to it, focus on it, give up everything else and do that thing. They will become frustrated with the MG, feeling like the MG is wasting their talent and time.
For a Manifesting Generator, variety is the spice of life. There is a duality present in MGs: the dual nature of the Manifestor and Generator sides. A sort of hyper-productivity comes with Sacral energy running straight to the Throat Center for manifestation. Whatever the Sacral Center of an MG is picking up on, it wants to express. This is why MGs are often called “all over the place.” When MGs tap into their Sacral energy they experience a state of flow and can express that energy, and there is no logic to it. The Sacral likes what it likes, wants what it wants, and MGs need to express or act on that. MGs aren’t necessarily concerned with being the best at something, they just want to act on their Sacral desires until that energy is gone, then they move on to the next Sacral response.
Manifesting Generators and Generators have a lot to offer one another, if they can recognize and accept their differences. Generators can help MGs to spot their own talents and can encourage them to pursue their passions, and MGs can help Generators to see that they don’t have to put so much pressure on themselves to find one purpose in life.
