The Channel of Rhythm connects the Sacral Center to the G Center through the Gate of Fixed Patterns (5) and the Gate of Extremes (15). Located within the G Center is the Magnetic Monopole. A magnetic monopole is a hypothetical particle in physics. A regular magnet has two poles- north and south. If you cut a regular magnet in half, the two halves would then stick to each other, because all magnets have both north and south poles within them. A magnetic monopole is a magnet that has only one pole, so it draws things to it magnetically, but it does not stick to anything because it only has one attracting pole. The idea of the magnetic monopole in Human Design is that within each of us, behind the G Center, is our own magnetic monopole. We each have our own one sided magnetism. Gate 15 is said to be the most magnetic gate, and the magnetic monopole shines through this gate.
The Gate of Extremes (15) comes from the G Center, and projects love from the higher self. Gate 15 is the love of humanity, of the full spectrum of extremes within humanity. It is not about how we connect to others, but how we project a universal love for humanity’s diversity. Gate 15 has the capacity to accept other people’s extremes without judgement. The Gate of Fixed Patterns (5) comes from the Sacral Center, and holds within it Sacral response and timing. It has a love for ritual and routine, and has a deep need for structure within its own fixed habits. Gate 5 can be rigid, because if its natural rhythm is disrupted it can experience a sense of groundlessness, insecurity and will react with a need to control. When these two Gates connect they form the Channel of Rhythm. This is the rhythm of life, the combination of magnetism and flow.
Within Gate 15 is also a touch of narcissism, an attracting power that pulls others into its flow. When combined with Gate 5, the power of its rhythm is unavoidable. People with this channel defined draw everyone around them into their flow and they subtly and not so subtly determine the course of whatever group they are in. People with this Channel defined are vitally connected to their own rhythm, and if their own rhythm and timing gets disrupted, they will in turn disrupt the rhythm of everyone around them. By design this Channel aims to draw people into a collective, flexible but continuous flow. However, in order for this Channel to fulfill its purpose, the person must learn to accept their own extremes (or fixed patterns) before they can in turn accept the extremes of others and be a guiding force toward collective flow.
